"No Straight Lines: Finding Success in Tattooing on Your Own Terms"
Seminar Description (for Evergreen's promo material):
In a world full of curated highlight reels, it's easy for artists to feel like they're behind-or like they're doing it wrong. In this seminar, Matt Vaught shares his journey from incarceration to international recognition, and breaks down the real tools that helped him get there. Through storytelling, visual breakdowns, and hard-earned insights, Matt explores the mindset, mechanics, and meaning behind what it really takes to build a career in tattooing today. This session is designed for established artists looking to reconnect with their passion, sharpen their craft, and redefine success on their own terms.

In Nick Baxter's Art Of Layering seminar, the 26 year tattooer and artist presents a methodical, scientific approach to formulating successful multi-session tattoo strategies for large scale or complex designs. Nick's approach aims to shake tattooists free of rigid and limiting mindsets by presenting the tattoo process in a big picture context, in which any tattooer can find their own unique solutions regardless of genre or style.
In this class, advanced layering techniques are explained as solutions to many of the complex challenges tattooers face while executing large multi-session pieces. If you’ve ever felt lost or intimidated by coverups or tackling large work, or are simply looking to add more techniques to your repertoire, this is the seminar for you. It is designed to help you see the tattoo application process in a new way, full of options and logical choices which create efficient workflows and lead to healed results not achievable in single-pass techniques.
This approximately 2 hour seminar features a lecture with slide presentation, followed by a brief Q & A.

Pete Carreno has been tattooing for over 20 years and getting tattooed for over 35. Tattooing has taken him all over the world and allowed him to work with and alongside some of the best tattooers in the industry. His seminar will cover his entire process from setup to application, but will mainly focus on large scale black and grey tattoos that will stand the test of time. He believes that nowadays a lot of tattooers focus on only making a tattoo that they can photograph and post to social media immediately for the likes and the fresh look. In his opinion, the tattoo is not completed until it is fully healed and you're able to see how that tattoo will age and look in 30, 40, 50+ years.
